Officials Have New Lead On Bonanza Double Homicide

Police are still looking for possible links between a missing man, a burned-out truck, and a horse ranch after two men were found dead near Bonanza on Thursday.

However, police say they believe they may know the identities of the two men, 32-year-old Everado Mendez-Ceja and 38-year-old Ricardo Jauregui. According to police, they were both reported missing from California.

“What led up to this is we were working an arson case, in which a pickup truck was burned out severely – about 6 miles from the location where the bodies were found,” said Sheriff Tim Evinger, Klamath County Sheriff’s Office.

Nosuspects are in custody, but police say they are conducting interviews and have persons of interest. An autopsy is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.
