New evacuations for Happy Camp Complex

Happy Camp, Cali. — The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office has issued new mandatory evacuations for the Happy Camp Complex fire along Highway 96.

The evacuations are in place for areas to the north of Highway 96 from Scott River Road to Seiad Creek Road including south of “Johnny O’Neil” Ridge and east of Seiad Creek Road.

The Sheriff’s office says once you leave you may not be able to re-enter the evacuation area.

Sheriff’s Deputies and U.S. Forest Service officials were going door-to-door Tuesday evening notifying residents of the evacuation notice.

Highway 96 is closed from Scott River Road to Seiad.

A shelter has been established by the Office of Emergency Services at Winema Hall at the Siskiyou County Fairgrounds in Yreka.
