Police Investigate Head-On Collision on Riverside Ave

Police are investigating Tuesday morning, after a head-on collision in Medford kills a dog and sending two people to the hospital.

That accident happened around 8 Monday night, shutting down Riverside Avenue between Barnett and Stewart Avenue.

Police say they’re getting a couple different stories from witnesses.They say, either one car drove into the wrong lane, or jumped the median into on-coming traffic,hitting another car head-on.

Medford Police Sgt. DJ Graham said, “There have been reports that one of the vehicles was traveling at a high rate of speed but we have reconstructionists coming out right now, we have our STAR team coming out and so detectives can look at it.”

The drivers of both cars are at the hospital and there’s no word on the extent of their injuries.Police say a third car was also involved but no one was hurt there.The investigation continues this morning.
