City To Release Details On Bierwiler Termination

The city of Medford loses it’s battle to keep its termination agreement with former fire chief Dave Bierweiler out of the public eye.

Jackson county district attorney Beth Heckert made the ruling on Monday, saying that the confidentiality clause between Bierwiler and the city did *not* qualify as an exemption.

Now, the city has seven days to turn over the termination agreement in it’s entirety.

Anattorney for the city had argued that public disclosure would be an invasion of Bierwiler’s privacy and would violate a confidentiality clause but the Mail Tribune appealed the city’s decision to keep details private.

Bierwiler abruptly left his position back in March but his firing wasn’t made public until August.
