New Fire Prompts Evacuation Notices

Several fires in our region continue to burn… and are still growing.

This morning officials announced another Oregon town is at risk.

Pre-evacuation notices are being issued to residents in John Day in Eastern Oregon.

The Grouse Mountain Branch of the Grant County complex fires reached the northern city limits late last night.

That fire began as a result of lightning from Wednesday’s thunderstorms.

Officials believe 2 thousand acres have already burned.

Residents located at Ironside, Valleyview, and Charolais Heights on the north side of town are all asked to be ready to leave at a moments notice this morning.
