Oregon Suffers Severe Dentist Shortage

Areport expected to be released today shows that Oregon suffers from one of the most severe dentist shortages in the country.

The Pew Research Center report reveals that approximately 17 percent of Oregonians live in a dentist-shortage area. That means many won’t receive adequate dental care.

Low-income kids in particular face several challenges in trying to get dental care, such as long waites for treatment and insufficient treatment options.

Oregon ranks 10th in the nation for worst dentist shortage.
