Poor Grade For Oregons’ Children’s Welfare

New numbers expected out Monday that show Oregon children are above the national average but not in a good way.

Oregon is ranked 32nd when it comes to the overall well being of its children, 41st when it comes to economic stability.

Among the numbers 37% of children in the state have parents who lack secure employment. 24% live in poverty and 70% of 4th graders can’t read at a 4th grade level.

We will have more on this story following the Stanley Cup Finals tonight on our evening newscast.
