Hundreds of people laced up their shoes in Ashland today, all to raise money for a good cause.
Nearly 400 people have registered to take part in Relay for Life.
The 24 hour walk-a-thon is the American Cancer Society’s biggest fundraiser.
So far, the relay in Ashland has raised nearly 38-thousand dollars.
“It’s just incredible to see everyone pitch in and raise that much money.”
“We are a small relay but we do not stop at anything to raise money.”
“This year our theme is superheros because we are saving the world one cure at a time.”
The walk also included several mini-activities including a frozen t-shirt contest, where participants had to melt a block of ice with nothing but body heat.
The walk will go on all night long and will end at 10 am Sunday.
