A Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy said the fatal accident happened at 8:30 Sunday evening near the intersection of East Gregory and Table Rock Roads in Central Point.
According to authorities, a northbound car hit the pedestrian which flung him into the other lane where a southbound car hit him. Deputies said the adult male was dead when they arrived at the scene. No name has been released but family members have been notifed.
An officer told NBC 5 News one of the drivers recalled the man looked like he was trying to cross the street.
The entire intersection area and other side streets were blocked off for about two hours.
The accident reconstruction team is still investigating.
