Fires Erupt in Rogue Valley

Multiple fire crews responded to a house fire in Medford. It broke out around one this afternoon in the 500 block of Midway Road. Crews say when they arrived on scene they saw flames shooting out of one window and smoke filled the air.

“We were one scene within 3 minutes we extinguished the fire, it was a pretty hot fire and it was going real well prior to our arrival,” said Wayne Painter with the Medford Fire District.

Fire officials say a family lived inside the home. They made it out safely. No word yet on what caused the fire.

Meantime, about an hour later, another fire started, this time in Eagle Point.

Roughly four crews and a rig carrying water responded to the structure fire in the 400 block of West Rolling Hills Drive.

Officials say flames engulfed a barn. It’s believed to be a total loss.

Fortunately no one was hurt and no other structures were threatened. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
