Fire Burns Businesses in Grants Pass

We’re told police and fire crews responded to a structure fire at 115 SW H Street. Roughly nine engines and more than 50-people were on scene putting out the flames and cleaning up. By around 11:30 Saturday night, it had already been knocked down. As of 12:00am parts of 6th and H Streets were still blocked off.

According to authorities, the call came in around 9:15 Saturday night. Police say they arrived within two-minutes and could see smoke coming out the top of the building.

The businesses affected include Lock Stock and Barrel (a gun repair shop where police say they believe the fire started), Tee Time, The Bead Merchant and Touch of Style (a hair salon). Police said each business had varying degrees of fire and smoke damage.

Officials told NBC 5 News, fire crews from Jackson County were requested to help control the fire, but in the end were not needed.

Police said it may take a few days to determine the cause of the fire. Authorities tell us there were no people in the building at the time and no injuries to report.

We are in contact with police and will post more updates as they become available.
