A project to harvest wind power has been given the green light 15 miles offshore in Coos Bay.
The Department of Energy announced they have awarded a Seattle company $4 million for a wind power project.
That company plans to install wind turbines on five floating foundations 15 miles off the coast in Coos Bay.
The grant was just one of 7 that was handed out with the hope of promoting the wind power industry.
No word yet on when the project will begin.
