It’s been nearly one year to the day since 23-year-old David Grubbs was brutally murdered on the bike path in Ashland. Hours after it happened, we spoke with David’s father.
“It was a violent crime, violent act, my son is dead,” said Michael Grubbs.
“I want them to catch the person who did this to him.”
A year later, while still grieving, a sliver of hope appeared on Wednesday after FBI agents and countless police officers served search warrants at addresses in Ashland and Talent. Police saying the searches were in connection with David Grubbs’ murder.
“They don’t share much with me, but i’m impressed with their action and I certainly hope it leads to a clue that will lead to an arrest,” said Michael Grubbs.
But behind a father’s solemn face, pain still lingers. He and his family, taking it one day at a time.
“Some days are good, some not so good. Lately it’s been a little bit rough,” he said.
“I wish somebody would come forward,” continued Grubbs.
A father, just hanging on and hoping the next day brings answers.
“It would just bring closure me, to David’s family, to the Valley.”
