Update on Greenway Stabbing

Investigators said they’ve caught the suspect they believe stabbed a man Saturday afternoon on the Bear Creek Greenway between Crater Lake Ford and Rail Road Park in Medford.

Authorities said both people involved were transients. According to police, the suspect, 61-year-old Richard Stanridge, knew the victim 32-year-old Lee Braudrick. Police said the two got into an argument regarding property which ended with Stanridge allegedly stabbing Braudrick multiple times.

“Upon arrival he was in need of immediate medical attention…Medford fire and Mercy ambulance arrived and he underwent surgery and at this point he is in stable condition and is expected to survive,” said Sergeant Kerry Curtis, an officer with the Medford Police Department.

The suspect, Stanridge, is in the Jackson County Jail, charged with Assault 1, and 2 as well as Attempted Assault 2.
