Coos Bay Police Standoff Causes School Lockdown

A Coos Bay school is put on lock-down for hours, while police negotiate with an armed man in a nearby house.

Tuesday morning, a report of a man with a gun sent police to 4th street in Coos Bay.

A woman and child who were in the house were able to get out safely, as family members and police negotiated with the man.

Some neighboring homes were evacuated, and Marshfield High School was put on a temporary lock-down.

We’re told the standoff ended peacefully.

Police will continue investigating the incident Wednesday morning.
