Utility Rates To Rise In Brookings

Brookings residents can expect to pay more for utilities, starting July 1.

The city council has approved the increases for water, trash and sewer services.

Water users will see a 9.8 % rise, sewer bills will jump 8.5 %, and trash and recycling pickup services will increase 2.53 %.

The council approved the increase Tuesday night, to fit the $18.5 millionbudget for the next year.
