Cops were faced with a tough situation in Portland. Police say a man with several knives declared he wanted to commit “suicide by cop.”
Officers stood down and after almost three hours, the man put down the weapons and surrendered.
Members of special police units and special emergency reaction team were called to the scene. The man has been taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
