California making call on Prop 8 Tuesday

A ruling on the California’s proposition 8 banning same sex marriage is due Tuesday morning. Judges with the ninth circuit court of appeals in San Francisco say they hope to make a final decision by Tuesday afternoon.

In August 2010, a judge ruled the voter-approved ban on same sex-marriage was unconstitutional.

Prop 8 supporters say the judge who made that ruling should have removed himself from the case, because he is openly gay.

Supporters and opponents of same sex marriage are confident this issue will eventually make it to the supreme court — and legal experts agree.
