Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Baily removing elephants from circus

Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey will remove elephants from its traveling circus performances by 2018.

The Feld family, parent company of Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey, says the 13 elephants currently touring with Three Circus Units will be relocated to the Ringling Brothers Center for Elephant Conservation in Florida.

The center is currently home to more than 40 elephants.

The change comes amid public concerns about treatment of the animals.
