Foster Farms Kelso processing plant written up for food safety violations

Kelso, Wash. — A Foster Farms processing plan in Kelso, Washington is written up for dozens of food safety violations.

According to Federal Inspection reports, dating from March to September 2014, the plant had 40 separate violations, including a report of fecal matter on a raw chicken.

These violations come after the company said it improved its food safety following a salmonella outbreak that started in June 2012.

That outbreak sickened dozens of people, most in Oregon and Washington.
