An 8-year-old Washington girl has been listed in critical condition Thursday after a school shooting in Bremerton.
The incident happened at Armin Jahn Elementary School at around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. The girl was shot in the stomach. Details surrounding the shooting are unclear.
Police say another third grader brought a firearm to school and shot the girl. It’s unknown if the gun went off accidentally or if the shooting was on purpose.
The school was on lock-down until 2 p.m. Wednesday. Thursday school officials brought grievance counselors on campus to assist students and parents.
