Air rage is becoming routine. Recent examples of passengers becoming unglued while in-flight aren’t hard to find; From the February flight to Atlanta where a male passenger is accused of hitting another passenger’s baby, and uttering a racial slur – to the numerous You Tube videos posted of passengers having to be escorted off in the middle of a fit.
A new CNN report suggests From 2009 to 2010 the International Air Transport Association saw a 29% rise in incidents on board flights.
Frustrations on the ground and in the air may be inviting more air rage. Things like escalating fees, shrinking leg room, stricter flight regulations, and delayed flights are just some of the suspected culprits wearing down passengers’ patience.
It’s probably no surprise that alcohol plays a major factor in many air rage incidents.
