And The Winner Is…

America has spoken and “The Voice” has crowned a new winner.

It all came down to Team Blake singers Terry McDermott and Cassadee Pope.

“It was giving me a little bit of an anxiety attack. Just a little bit,” Pope said.

Moments later, the suspense came to an end.

Pope crossed the bounds of pop, rock and country music to become the show’s first female champion.

“I can’t tell you how it feels, because I feel completely numb. I feel like this isn’t really happening,” she said.

Her coach knew it would happen months ago.

“Since the first moment I heard her sing and turned around and saw her and her smile, I believed Cassadee Pope was a superstar,” said Blake Shelton.

Pope’s fellow finalist also paid tribute to the winner.

“She deserves every minute and every good thing coming her way. She’s worked very hard for it. She’s going to do very well,” said Terry McDermott.

Pope’s victory earns her a recording contract with Universal Music Group.

She, along with McDermott and Nicholas David, also earned new cars for making the final three.
