Another suspicious fire keeps fire crews on their toes

Updated (7/24 9:45 a.m.) Medford Police released a short description on their Facebook page of a possible suspect from last night’s fire. Witnesses saw a male in the alcove just prior to the fire, and he left walking north on Fir Street. He was described as a white male, 5’11”, thin build, shoulder length hair with a dark beanie, brown T-shirt, and dark jeans.

All of the fires are believed to be arson and most likely connected to the serial arsonists who is targeting the area. We obviously have several officers and detectives canvassing the area.

Medford, Ore.– Police and Fire investigators arrived to 11th and Fir Street where a small fire started outside the door of Beavertooth Oak Warehouse Wednesday at 8:56 p.m.

A neighbor said they saw a person urinating by the warehouse back door and then saw a flame.

Fire crews found apile of debris and trash burning on top of a cart wheel, and put out the flames right away. They are now wondering if this could be the work of a suspected serial arsonist. There have been 18 confirmed arson fires since late June in West and downtown Medford.

Investigators said the previous fires have been started in alley ways.

If you see anything suspicious call 911.
