Armed Conflict at Coffee Kiosk

An armed man wearing military body armor was arrested after allegedly fighting with Klamath Falls police Sunday…and police say the suspect has made threats to kill the officers involved, and their families.

Officer Terry Amos with the Klamath Falls Police Department reports that police were called to a Dutch Bros. kiosk near the Dollar Tree at 5:30 Sunday afternoon…

“And he was armed with a flak jacket, which is a bullet-proof vest, and a firearm.”

Officer Amos adds that the man had threatened another person with a Glock handgun…

“The best we can tell, it seems like the suspect did not want to wait for his coffee, and grew a little agitated, and confronted the driver in front of him.”

One officer suffered a knee injury in the fight, while another cop sustained an injury to his finger.

“It took approximately 4 or 5 officers to attempt to detain him.” Added Amos.

The suspect has been identified as 30 year old Kale Donovan Miller of Republic, Missouri…and police say Miller has made additional threats.

“He made several threats that he was going to kill all the officers involved, and their families.” Notes Officer Amos. “And that as soon as he got released, he would hunt them all down, and proceed with that.”

Police say it’s unsure if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.

Miller faces multiple charges including menacing, unlawful possession of a firearm, and resisting arrest.

Miller is jailed with bail set at 23 thousand dollars.
