Ashland Community Hospital And Asante Merge

Officials with Asante have released the terms for a merger with Ashland Community Hospital.

The city council is expected to decide tonight wether or not to accept the contract.

Ashland Community Hospital is the third larges employer in Ashland and employs some 400 people with an annual payroll of about $25 million dollars.

Asante says if the merger goes through, it would try to keep as many of those employees as possible at Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, Three Rivers Medical Center in Grants Pass and Asante Physician Partners.

Asante has agreed to put in $10 million dollars in capital improvements to the hospital and the agreement,ACH would be run by Asante’s board of directors andACH would become a quality committee.

The city would transfer the land, buildings, fixed equipment and it’s corperate ownership of ach to Asante.
