Burglary Suspect Arrested

A suspect who allegedly used stolen cars to smash into Klamath Falls businesses and rob them is in custody tonight.

Tim Clemens of ‘Gonracin BMX’ was robbed about two weeks ago. The suspect gained entry by using a stolen car to bust open the back door. Police believe that suspect is 21 year old Marc Chicklero. Clemens says Chicklero’s mugshot looks familiar.

“I went on facebook, and looked him up, and recognized him from a couple weeks ago when he was in here with 3 other guys.”

Sgt. Shawn Richards of the Klamath County Sheriff’s office says that Chicklero has been linked to at least four other burglaries.

“Upon serving a search warrant at Mr. Chicklero’s house, we solved a number of crimes that we’ve been investigating.”

Detective Sgt. Dennis Davenport of the Klamath Falls Police Department says the bust could also solve some cases for the city.

“There’s some active investigations going on, with some other issues – and hopefully, we’ll get some closure on that soon, as well.”

Tim Clemens says he’s planning on beefing up security.

“I’ve got some guys coming up to put a couple of steel posts in. Fill them with concrete, and that will at least do some damage when they hit the posts.”

Police believe at least one other person was involved. Much of the stolen property has been recovered. Those items will be processed and cataloged before they are returned. The investigation is continuing, and more arrests are expected. Chicklero’s bail has been set at sixty thousand dollars.
