City of Ashland Receives Large Federal Grant

The city of Ashland has won a Federal Government grant totaling over $250,000 to help prevent wildfires in the Ashland Watershed.

About $200,000 of the grant will be used to thin trees and brush on the city’s 160-acre Winburn parcel.

City officials say the rest of the grant money will be used to thin fuels on other city land, as well as Ashland Parks & Recreation Department Land.
