Commissioners To Approve Jacksonville Residential Development Project

The city of Jacksonville could soon see a new residential development.

Jackson County commissioners plan to approve a zoning change for the 405-acres of the former landfill, just east of downtown.

If approved, the residential development would include 27 homes on plots ranging from two to five acres.

However officials say more than 300 acres would remain in its current state.

Commissioners are expected to approve the zoning change at a November 7 public hearing.
