Controlled burn in Ashland Thursday

If you’re seeing smoke near Ashland; don’t worry, it’s a scheduled burn.

Happening Thursday, Forestry crews are scheduled to burn brush piles at the top of Hilt road in the Ashland watershed. Hikers and bike riders are encouraged to avoid the area all day.

The burning is part of the 10-year Ashland forest resiliency stewardship project, which aims to decrease the risk and impacts of severe wildfire in the citys watershed.
