State Police and Explosive Disposal experts are warning Oregon beach-goers to beware: Marine markers have been washing ashore, and officials say they can be extremely dangerous.
The aluminum cylinders are used by military aircraft to mark floating locations and are often filled with white or red phosphorous, which burns when it makes contact with air.
They are about 18 inches long and 3 inches in diameter.
Officials say you should avoid touching them, and stay at least 100 feet away while calling police.
