Democrats Relieved as President Wins the Whitehouse

Nearly 300 people at the Jackson County Democrats’ Blue Bash Fundraiser cheered in unison when they heard Barack Obama was projected to be the 44th President of the United States.

Attendees said they were thrilled to hear the news.

But the road to the White House was a bumpy one. Both President Obama and Governor Mitt Romney were neck and neck in a statistical dead-heat in the hours leading up to election day.

Some Democrats we spoke with say they were nervous in the beginning but are now excited to see what the President will accomplish next in his second term as President.
