39 inmates, some of whom were convicted of crimes like rape in the third degree, menacing, and assault were released from the Josephine county adult jail this Wednesday morning.
A tax levy on the May ballot didn’t get enough support and the county jail was forced to slash staff and the number of inmates behind bars.
