Dozens rescued from Detroit blaze

Detroit, Mich. — (WDIV) Dozens of people were rescued, and even some jumped to safety, early Wednesday morning on Detroit, Michigan’s west side when a massive fire broke out in an apartment building.

Flames overtook the Jason Manor apartment building, near Schoolcraft and Outer Drive.

Fire officials on the scene said 25 people were rescued and four people were taken to the hospital. There was no immediate reports of death caused by the fire, which broke out about 6 am.

Police were called to the building earlier to deal with a disturbance at a party, Fire Commissioner Jonathon Jackson said, and police were investigating whether that was related to the fire. The cause of the fire wasn’t immediately known.
