Early Year For Salmon in Bear Creek

Chinook salmon are returning to Bear Creek and other local waterways earlier than ever before.

Local river authorities tell us that the heavy rainfall, waterway clean-ups, and dam removal may be partly responsible.

“The fish are actually doing really well with the removal of the dams,” said Robyn Janssen.

We also spoke with a local naturalist who said he had been counting the salmon since 1994.
