Facebook plea saves couple

Belfair, Wash. — (KING) Animal control officers from three counties seized dozens of dogs from a Belfair, Washington home Sunday night.

Deputies described the conditions as “filthy,” according to Mason County Detective Bill Adam.

Over the weekend the homeowners posted on Facebook that the couple were too ill to care for their dogs.

Neighbors said the couple had been breeding Pekingese dogs on the property.

When someone responded to the home after seeing the Facebook post and no one answered the door, the person called 911.

When Mason County deputies arrived both residents needed “immediate” care, according to Adam.
