Fire Season Starts Wednesday, Jackson & Josephine Counties

Wednesday marks the first day of fire season 2012, for both Jackson and Josephine counties.

The fire danger level is expected to jump to moderate.

Officials say the warm Spring weather prompted an early start to fire season here in Oregon.

As of Wednesday, debris burning is prohibited.

Burn barrel use is still allowed, but you need a permit from the Oregon Department of Forestry.
