It’s official. Americans have seen prices go up at the pump for 32-days straight.
In Oregon and Northern California, we’re not skirting skyrocketing prices.
Bob Neff is a business owner in the Rogue Valley.
“We own Conger Morris funeral home in Medford, Central Point and Eagle Point,” said Neff.
He said the high gas prices are putting a strain on his business.
“We drive a lot and it has a real impact on us. If it keeps going up, we’re going to have to raise prices to our customers.”
According to AAA, in Medford, the price for a gallon of regular gas is almost 40-cents more than it was last month.
It’s not good when heating bills need to be paid, and people are paying two-percent more in payroll taxes.
“It’s way too high and where’s it going to end”
Meantime, Bob Neff said he’s just trying to save money.
“We have several automobiles and we’re trying to combine our trips so we use less gasoline…whatever we can do to conserve,” he said.
However, even with those cost saving measures, he said he’s not saving all that much money, since gas prices keep going up.
Experts say many factors have come together to increase gas prices, including a rise in crude oil prices, production cuts and refineries closing.
But at least there’s still one bright spot for Oregonians. Gas prices in the Beaver State are at $3.63 per gallon of regular gas. That’s below the national average of $3.73 per gallon. Californians though Folks in the Golden State are paying more…an average of $4.16 per gallon of regular gas.
In Medford, the average is $3.69.
