Grants Pass Police on Lookout for Kidnapping and Theft Suspect

Grants Pass police are still looking for the suspect who they say stole a car with kids inside.

According to authorities, it all started when a white man in his 20s, slim, about 5’8″ with short hair stole a car from the 7-Eleven parking lot located at 790 SW 6th street around 8:20 Saturday morning.

Fortunately the 8-year old little boy and 3-year-old little girl inside the car were found safe, before an Amber Alert could be issued, about a mile away at the American Medical Response ambulance office at 401 NW F Street. They were reunited with their father.

Police are still looking for the car, a 2004 white Ford Explorer, with license plate 168BFG. Authorities are also still looking for the suspect who was last seen wearing a green baseball cap, red t-shirt over a long sleeved shirt with a striped pattern, jeans, and white tennis shoes.

The suspect description was obtained from security camera footage from 7-Eleven.

The car may have possibly been involved in a reckless driving complaint in the Upper River Road area earlier Saturday. However, Oregon State Police troopers were unable to locate it.

Anyone with information should call Grants Pass police at 541-450-6260.
