Hosler Dam alarm maintenance

ASHLAND, ORE. — The city of Ashland will be conducting maintenance on sirens across the city this week.

During the last quarterly test, the system had a minor glitch, and this week crews will be working to fix it.

They will also be updating the siren software according to Ashland Senior Engineer Pieter Smeenk.

“They’ll go through routine electric test, testing the batteries, and the signals, and the amplifier to make sure they are all talking to each other correctly. And then we’ll do an overall silent test of the system.”

It is possible that the maintenance will trigger the alarms to sound, but crews say rest assure, it is only a test.
