Hypothermia Death Propels Ashland Warming Shelter

A homeless man died from extremely cold nighttime temperatures near downtown Medford. In response, a called for action among organizers and Ashland city council members came up with way to serve people who have no place to go.

A warming shelter will open on Thursday’s at the Pioneer Hall on Wimer Street in Ashland. Every Monday, the First Presbyterian Church in Ashland opens as a shelter and Every Wednesday, Trinity Episcopal Church serves as a warming station.
