Calling all volunteers, the Illinois Valley Fire District is asking for your help.
Call volumes in the area are increasing and staff numbers are at an all-time low.
That’s why fire officials say they are in need of about 20 nearby residents to join the department, which is primarily run with the help of volunteers.
“Our requirements are 18 years of age, we do have a physical agility test, it’s not too extensive. And have an Oregon driver’s license. Those are the main things we are looking for right now.”
The next academy begins on September 7.
