Immunization Exclusion Day is tomorrow

Medford, Ore. — The clock is ticking as Oregon parents have just hours to gather their children’s up-to-date immunization records.

Wednesday is Exclusion Day, meaning beginning tomorrow kid’s records will be turned into their schools. The state requires that all children in public and private schools, preschools and certified child care facilities must have up-to-date vaccine records or an exemption.

Students who do not have the proper vaccines will not be allowed back in the classroom.

Last year more than 5,000 kids statewide were kept out of school until their records were turned in.

Health officials say no one can be turned away from a local health department because of the inability to pay for required vaccines.
