Jackson County Ranked One Of The Greenest In The State

Astudy just released reveals that Jackson County is one of the greenest in the state.

According to the Department of Environmental Quality, Jackson County ranked 9th out of Oregon’s 36 counties when it came to recycling.

Of the nearly 250,000 tons of garbage produced last year the county recycled almost 100,000 tons.

Back in 2009, the Oregon legislature set a goal to recover at least 40% of waste produced in the state.

Jackson County has exceeded that goal.
