Some Jackson County home owners may see a reduction in their property taxes this year.
It could be a positive effect of a failing housing market.
Since 2007, officials say properties values within Jackson County have declined by 34%.
As a result8 of the11 cities within the county will see lower property taxes.
Some 39% of home owners will see reductions this year alone.
The down side, the money collected from these taxes goes toward funding for schools, cities, and county services.
