Jacksonville House Fire Prompts 3-Alarm Response

A Jacksonville house caught fire early Tuesday morning, prompting a three-alarm response from fire crews.

Around 2:30 A.M., we’re told a neighbor called 911 after hearing popping noises, and smelling smoke in the area. Crews from Jacksonville fire were sent to the 700 block of Applegate Street for a smoke investigation.

On arrival, officials say they found a fire, which quickly escalated to flames climbing 50 feet in the air. Medford Fire and Jackson County Fire District Three also responded to the two-story house.

Authorities tell us everyone in the home was able to make it out safely, and there are no injuries to report. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Stay with NBC 5 for updates.
