Klamath Falls woman killed in ATV accident

Klamath Falls, Ore. – A Klamath Falls woman is dead following an accident involving an all terrain vehicle.

The accident happened Tuesday during the noon hour in a remote area northeast of Klamath Falls.

Corporal Brian Bryson says two people were on ATV’s looking for missing livestock…

“One of the individuals hit a rock causing the ATV to flip forward, and she fell off of the front of the ATV, and the ATV landed on top of her.”

45 year old Michelle Ferrario-Carter did not survive the crash…police say she wasn’t wearing a helmet.

Bryson notes that deputies had to break the news to the woman’s 15 year old daughter, who was at school…

“Anybody that’s ever had to do it, at some point, has got in their car and drove off and shed a tear.”

Deputies say the crash underscores the importance of wearing a helmet.
