Missing Illinois man in remote area of Lake County found

Update (7/31 11 a.m.)Officials say the missing teen in northern Lake County has been found alive. He is being taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Lake County, Ore. –Lake County Sheriff’s deputies and Oregon State Police are looking for an 18 year old who walked away from a wilderness program campsite early Wednesday morning.

Kevin Mulert is from Illinois. Troopers say he’s part of a therapeutic nature camp about six miles south of Frederick Butte (that’s in a remote area of northern Lake County.)

They say he was last seen at 4 a.m. and may not be wearing shoes. He’s 511, 200 pounds, brown hair, and brown eyes. If you have information please call 911.

Approximately 30 searchers from search & rescue teams out of Lake, Deschutes, Klamath counties are at the site focusing on a 5-mile area around the program’s camp site. The search is being done from the ground and air resources. Temperatures again today are expected to be in the mid to upper 90s with potential for thunderstorms.
