Missing Rogue Valley man’s body found outside of Jacksonville

Updated (3/20 9:40 a.m.)The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office have confirmed that the body of missing man, 36-year-old Eric Meyer.

Officials say Meyer was found in a rural area of Jackson County on the 1035 Road and the 350 Spur Road, outside of Jacksonville.

Meyer was reported missing on Sunday March 1 and on Tuesday March 3, his vehicle was found on Forest Road 1040 near Applegate Lake.

SISKIYOU COUNTY, CAL. — Search and rescue teams are asking for the public’s help in locating a Rogue Valley man, who went missing just beyond the Oregon-California border.

Search teams from both Siskiyou and Jackson County say 36 year-old, Eric Meyer was last seen on March 1, in Medford.

Meyer’s car was found Friday near 1040 road along the Applegate River in Northern California.

“He certainly had someequipmentwith him. We don’t know exactly what he doeshave but we found that his vehicle was out of fuel. So like I said, we are just reaching out because we don’t understand why we haven’t been able to find him,” said Sgt. Shawn Richards from Jackson County Search & Rescue.

Meyer is described as 6’1” and weighs 155 pounds.

He has short brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on Meyer’s whereabouts, is asked to call the sheriff’s office.
