More Japanese Tsunami Debris Could Soon Wash Ashore

The cooler weather is here, and scientist say it’s likely to bring more tsunami debris with it.

Due to higher wind speeds, scientists believe the nearly 5 million tons of debris sitting in the ocean will soon wash ashore.

It’s the result of an earthquake and tsunami that struck Japan a year and a half ago.

Up to now, most of the debris found was likely floating on top of the water.

As areminderif you see any mysterious debris do not touch it, but call the tsunami marine debris hotline at 2-1-1.
